Before we strap your engine into the dyno, we need to make sure it’s 100% ready for the task ahead. Dyno tuning pushes your engine harder than normal street driving, so preparation is everything - for your car’s safety, for accurate results, and for everyone’s time.
Fluids:
All fluids must be topped off, bring extra or fluids will be available for purchase at the shop.
We recommend an oil change before and after your run, we have oil in stock to purchase at the shop if you need it.

If a spring change is needed, bring valve springs.
If you would like to bring a personal water pump, feel free to otherwise we have electric pumps available.
No oil, coolant, fuel, or other fluid leaks - period.
If you have one, fix it before your appointment or book a repair with us first.
If your engine is newly assembled by Steinhafel Precision Engines, we will repair leaks as needed.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your time slot.
This deposit is applied toward your final bill.
If you no-show, your deposit is forfeited.
You can reschedule once within at least 48 hours’ notice.
Rescheduling less than 48 hours in advance = deposit forfeited.
A second reschedule requires another $500 non-refundable deposit.
All runs are priced by dyno time/hr.
If your engine leaks fluids on the dyno, a $100 cleanup fee will be added unless it is a “break-in” for an engine assembled by Steinhafel Precision Engines.
At Steinhafel Precision Engines, we take every precaution to keep you and your engine safe, but the reality is, performance testing carries inherent risks. By participating in any activity on our premises, you acknowledge and accept these risks in full.
Steinhafel Precision Engines will not be held responsible for any damage to your engine (including but not limited to the engine or any other component) or for any injury to yourself while your engine is on our property, operating on the dynamometer (“Dyno”), or participating in any performance-related event at Steinhafel Precision Engines.
Any damage to Steinhafel Precision Engines’ property caused by recklessness, misuse, or misconduct will be the full financial responsibility of the individual who brought in the engine, signed the waivers, and/or any involved parties - excluding members of the Steinhafel Precision Engines team.
By entering our facility or participating in any events, you grant Steinhafel Precision Engines full permission to photograph and/or record video of you and/or your engine. This content may be used for marketing purposes across print, digital, web-based platforms, and other promotional materials related to our products and services.
“Dyno Day” is inherently demanding on your engine and all supporting systems. While we take every precaution to protect your engine, Steinhafel Precision Engines is not responsible for any damage that may occur during or after the dyno process.
Your engine is modified from factory specifications.
You assume all risks associated with the dyno process.
There is no warranty, expressed or implied, on tuning or performance outcomes.
You will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to the dyno run.
Come prepared, come leak-free, and come with an engine that’s ready to perform. Our goal is to give you precise, powerful, and reliable data, but we can only do that if your engine is ready to handle it!
